This suede chic colour takes over where Buff left off with a stronger mix of the same pigments. It is a timeless deep beige that can be used as a wall colour or for the trim as well. Tawny is packed with pigment, in fact all our colours at Edward Bulmer Natural Paint are made using just 12 natural earth and mineral pigments – we create natural paint that does not cost the earth.
‘My father warned me away from using Natural Paints, as he felt they were unreliable (he was a Painter and Decorator 20 yrs ago!). However when I started to paint the emulsion on I realised he was wrong and so got him in to have a go too! He was really pleasantly surprised, and agreed that it went on easily and evenly and produced a lovely colour. The best thing for me was that I had people stopping in the room the night after, and they had no idea it was freshly painted – not a hint of a smell.’

My decorator said it was the best paint he had ever worked with!
As background, the house is a fairly undistinguished 1960s house, so it lacks interesting features, but it has large windows and it’s very light. For this reason we chose Ochre for the main room, which is our sitting room. It faces east, so on a good day the sun comes streaming through the windows in …
At last we found the perfect off white for our bedroom which we both love. Neither too pink nor too white Rose Tinted White goes perfectly with the rest of our decor. The paint was lovely, went on so easily with only two coats

In our recent renovation we therefore have used all natural materials, from timber and lathe through sheep’s wool insulation to lime plaster. Your paints were …

We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.
Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.
