The import of hardwoods from the West Indies gave cabinet makers stable and attractively figured woods which became highly sought after in the C18th. Red dyes could be extracted from these timbers and they were often named after the country in which the tree grew. Nicaragua and Honduras were the source of timber that gave its name to purply red hues such as the one we have mixed to give a deep colour without making it over fragrant. Our natural, vegan paints are baby, child and pet safe containing no harmful VOCs.
