Pink is the undercurrent in so many materials used for masonry, from stone to terracotta or brick. This is what makes it such a great colour for walls – in grand or intimate spaces. Good pinks, light or strong, need to be settled down with earth pigment and often a pinch of black. The colour exudes a gender neutral confidence that flatters and inspires – no wonder that you can find it on the atelier walls of Anna Mason, our favourite fashion designer and modern muse!
I’ve always had this mantra that you should live and work with what you love so as a designer I felt a real connection with Edward Bulmer’s transformative paints. We both see colour as a vital necessity - the essential raw ingredient. I’d fallen in love with Cuisse de Nymphe Emue - a pink that was just dirty enough not to be sugary and I was equally drawn to the shades of tobacco brown I’ve also used in the maison for tone and balance. I worked with Edward to create what is now called ‘Mason Pink’ and I’m thrilled that this new colour will be a an addition to the Edward Bulmer Natural Paint range, as many of my customers are already asking about it!

I love Edward Bulmer’s Natural Paints, which are made entirely from natural pigments in superb heritage colour ranges.
I love the colour because it is so warm and charming, winter had our blue bedroom feeling cold and dreary, but the combination of Hespan, Red Ochre and Fine Green has turned the space into a cosy haven! It’s vibrant yet oh-so-snug, and I’m really enjoying spending time in the room again. It’s a statement colour which is still …
Thank you for your wonderful paint. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am. Your Rose Tinted White is the most beguiling of colours – in fact I’d say it’s more of a mood than a colour! It’s warm soft, feminine without being sugary and the paint has a wonderful earthy, breathing quality which is magical.
Getting the canvas of your room right is a challenge for any interior designer, so I was delighted when I discovered the Edward Bulmer paint range. The natural pigments that they use in their paints really do bring your interior to life and give their palettes a versatility and depth that I have failed to find elsewhere. …
The quality of Edward Bulmer Natural Paints are second to none. The density of pigments in the colour is fantastic. This means that when you work with it, the coverage is thicker and you don’t need to paint the walls with so many coats, which saves time, which from my team’s point of view is great as we have …
We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.
Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.
