A colour consultancy showcase Antiques dealer, interior stylist, sustainability warrior: online vintage homewares emporium Rock the Heirloom founder Amy Eld is on a mission to highlight how second hand furniture is great value, high quality, kinder to the planet and brings character, uniqueness and style to a room. The self-confessed antiques disruptor also has a treasure trove of lighting, quirky furniture and soft furnishings in her Surrey showroom, where she displays rare pieces of furniture and art that can’t be found elsewhere, enabling shoppers to create highly personal spaces. An avid attender of antiques fairs, markets and auctions, Amy has built up relationships with a pool of carefully chosen, reputable suppliers both in the UK and abroad, who provide rustic, industrial, mid-century and decorative staples from a range of periods. She provides a sourcing service, inspiring and helping her clients to find that special piece that sparks serious joy, whether it’s for their own home, a gift or an interior design project. Antiques are in Amy’s blood. Taken to fairs by her antiques dealer grandparents every weekend as a child sparked a passion and respect for beautiful things. She’s drawn to the extraordinary and intriguing pieces that have enjoyed a past life and are ready to be loved by someone else. Her eye for blending antique items alongside more trendy, modern pieces to create new offbeat looks has led to Rock The Heirloom being featured in Homes & Interiors and Sheer Luxe, and on the BBC. Designed by Amy Eld and photography by Kit Dixon Smith Amy’s Colour Consultancy experience When Amy embarked on her decorating journey, she remembered that she had heard about Edward Bulmer Natural Paint’s colour consultancy when visiting the Ebury Street showroom. Dealing with colour and antiques daily, Amy is used to sourcing brilliant and bright pieces to adorn homes across the UK, but when it came to bigger decisions on paint colours she admitted, “When it came to the Pimlico flat, it became clear that I needed that extra bit of help”–Amy Eld After a quick jaunt down to our London colour hub, she was met by one of our colour experts and booked an at home visit so we could see the space and have a walk through room by room. After initial visits, it’s time to discuss ideas! Taking A5’s and swatches allowed us to visualise in real time and pair with textiles, furniture and the aspects of each room. Using our breathable, pigment rich paints delighted Amy’s decorator and bought a new lease of life to the house that only natural paint can. Odourless, easy to use and environmentally friendly formulas are just a handful of the reason why you should invest in Edward Bulmer Natural Paint.
