A space where functionality meets flair is the often-overlooked utility and laundry room. These rooms can be functional, organised, and colourful, all at once. In the hustle and bustle of our lives, these rooms serve as the unsung heroes, quietly supporting our households with their practicality. Yet, in the pursuit of efficiency, we often forget that these spaces can be so much more than just utilitarian corners.
A beautifully designed utility room in our charming ‘Pea Green’ designed by Nels Crosthwaite Eyre, featuring striking Luke August wallpaper that complements the space seamlessly. The scalloped edged splash back introduces a delightful touch of personality and whimsy.

This joyful laundry room in the home of @white_rabbit_living shows the power of stripes, even in small spaces. Mink chose our ‘Brick’ and ‘Buff’ to add some fun to her utility room. The colours work naturally in tonal harmony, which is all down to the natural earth and mineral pigments. The use of different finishes, eggshell against emulsion, creates further interest with the sheen levels. The chic counter curtain was designed by our talented local friends at Tinsmiths.
Bright laundry rooms exude a special charm, and this one in the vibrant and beautiful home of @kitandco_ is akin to a sunlit haven, in our ‘Persian’ yellow. Our spectrum of yellows effortlessly infuse sunshine into spaces, catering to a range from mellow to bold preferences. Adorning the walls is the timeless Sanderson wallpaper, while the skirt by Tori Murphy adds the most delightful finishing touch, creating an overall picture of timeless elegance.

@oldhouseourhome lovingly restored their Grade II listed 14th Century Cotswold Rectory back to life. The pantry and laundry room has been transformed using our ‘Drab Green’, giving such depth and warmth to a space that still houses a previously functioning well. It has been beautifully decorated with artwork from ‘LASSCO Three Pigeons’ and ‘The Picture Gallery’, alongside antique finds from ‘Station Mills Antiques’ and lighting by Jim Lawrence. The result is a charming pantry that seamlessly combines history and character.
Sometimes a colour that is so full of energy it takes over a room is exactly what’s called for! We love this pop of colour in Edward’s home in ‘Malahide’ paired with ‘Eau de Nile’ woodwork on the doors. The colours establish create a natural tonal harmony that adds to the overall appeal.

For a more neutral space our calming and soft ‘Duck Egg’ hue is the perfect choice. We love this bathroom come laundry room space curated by Laura Fantacci, along with its contrasting stripes showcased in the shower tiles and the curtain. The stunning ceiling-to-floor curtain not only adds a touch of elegance but also serves as a clever solution to conceal your appliances.
Our founder Edward Bulmer has created colours which convey unrivalled depth and light, whilst protecting the planets’ finite resources by using plant-based, plastic free, natural ingredients. Using our beautiful natural paints means your walls will not give off any harmful toxins and you can go to sleep the same day as painting with its odourless finish.
